Summary: A new planet like the Earth was discovered from Chile with HARPS (High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher).It is named HD85512b and is 34 light years away. It looks very good at the moment because it revolves around a star that is older than the sun which means that strong heat waves won’t damage its atmosphere. It is impossible to see if the planet has atmosphere with the current instruments. Before there were 2 discoveries like this but one was a data glitch. This planet has benefits like that its orbiting path is almost circular which means steady climate.
My thoughts: I can’t wait for the day humans land on this planet. I wonder if it has an atmosphere. I hope it’s a good environment because humans will have to leave Earth sometime because of the large and on growing population. I hope there are peaceful aliens on that planet.
